Winning Weave Name: Celtic Cross
suggested by Barb R of Grand Rapids, MI

In a very close second place was Dragon's Tears, suggested by Heather Montgomery of Woodstock IL.
Tied for 3rd place: Celtic Rose, Spinal Link, Celtic Trinity, and The End of the Alien.

For submitting the winning name, Barb wins two Celtic Visions kits, with extra F18 rings to create Celtic Cross. Runner-up Heather wins one Celtic Visions kit.

Thank you to everyone who participated. We loved your suggestions!

How did we choose the winner? Rebeca gathered together a group of friends and maillers and presented them a list of the weave suggestions (with no names attached...mostly for Rebeca's benefit, so she wouldn't be biased!). Each person got 5 votes to distribute any way they wished. Most put 2 or 3 votes here, and 1 or 2 votes there, but a rare few put all 5 on one name. After doing a little math, the winner was determined. We'll be doing more contests, so please come back and enter our other contests!

Name that Weave!

Help Rebeca come up with a name for this weave and win two Celtic Visions Bracelet kits.

brass celtic visions variation
This variation of Celtic Visions gathers adjacent sections of the weave together. You can see an original Celtic Visions segment at the far left.

The current name for this weave is somewhat of a joke, as discussed in this thread on M.A.I.L. The mouthful of a name is Celtic Lego Spaceship Serpent's Tail. Heh.

Do you have a clever name for this weave? If so, we'd like to hear from you. Current weaves in the M.A.I.L weave library have a wide variety of names; you may want to check them out for inspiration (though there is a strong likelihood that you will get sucked into the website, oohing and aahing over the many great weaves!)

If you think you've got an appealing name that is easy-to-remember, then please send it to us at contest@bluebuddhaboutique.com

Prize: Winner will receive 2 Aluminum Celtic Visions kits (your choice of colors), plus additional F18 rings, approximately a $25 value. (Why the F18s? Well, that should be the size of the additional rings, but Rebeca needs to test it out in Aluminum to be sure! But you'll still get the F18s as freebies, even if the sizes don't exactly work out.)

Contest Rules: I don't want to get bogged down with legal-stuff...I just want this to be a fun contest, but of course, there is some fine print: Only one email entry per person, however, you may submit up to 3 name suggestions in your email. Entries must be received by midnight CST Friday, March 9. Winner will be chosen by Rebeca Mojica and announced by Wednesday March 14. Please include your full name, age, and contact information (phone and address) in your email...otherwise, how can we let you know that you've won? *grin*

Contest is open to anyone 14 years of age and older in the U.S. and abroad. All taxes, fees, and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. (Prize winnings are considered income.) Winner's name and home city will be posted on this website. By submitting a name to this contest, you agree that if you win, Blue Buddha Boutique and Rebeca Mojica can use this name on promotional materials, and all in the maille world can use this name without fear of legal action by you. :-)
