Tip: This kit includes headpins that are exactly the right length. Snip off the "head" of the headpin with wire cutters, and then make your loops following the steps on pg 30-31. Your loops should be about a "C" size inner diameter (7/64" / 2.8 mm). It might take a couple of tries to get the loops just right, and that's why we include some extra headpins in the kit!

Errata: The number of J17 rings listed in the book is incorrect. The correct number should be 116.

Additionally, the instructions don't say what the soldered ring is for. It is intended to be used on the side of the necklace opposite the clasp, to be a sturdy ring that the clasp can hook onto. All kits include a solid ring of approximately 15 gauge.

New to Maille? The kit as shown in the book uses stainless steel and bronze jump rings. These metals are VERY difficult to work with (especially the stainless steel) so we recommend choosing one of the other kit combinations below if you have never worked with stainless steel before and/or are new to chainmaille.

Note: We currently sell aluminum and jewelry brass versions of this bracelet.

Errata: The clasp for the sterling bracelet is different from the aluminum bracelet (shown in the step by step photos). In order to properly connect to the sterling clasp, you may need to adjust the way you finish, as shown in this diagram. All sterling kits include D18 and B19 rings should you wish to finish this way.
