Description: Weave rubber rings into metal jump rings to create a dramatic 2.5-in. pendant in the instructor's signature intricate style. The pattern resembles Moorish tiles, hence the name Alhambra. Students receive instructions, but note that this design is a preview from the instructor's upcoming book, and instructions will not be available to the general public until the book is released.
Students will Learn: Tips and tricks for combining rubber and metal jump rings; techniques for building upon a weave to create new layers.
Prerequisites: Fluency with Japanese Bulls Eye, Helm Chain (Parallel), plus three additional intermediate or advanced-level chain maille weaves. Students should be comfortable working with small jump rings in size 18 SWG 1/8-in. (3.2 mm) inner diameter.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, task lamp.
Pliers: Flatnose without grooves, rubber-coated, small flatnose. Instructor prefers Lindstrom.
Materials in Kit: Anodized aluminum jump rings, rubber rings, chain, pendant bail, lobster claw clasp, instructions.
