Description: Using mixed metals in five sizes, create an elegant necklace that is a new variation of the spiral weave Jens Pind. The kit includes supplies to make a pair of earrings as well. Students can choose to make a colorful aluminum piece instead of the mixed-metal piece pictured.
Students will Learn: Jens Pind weave and how to taper the weave using different ring sizes.
Prerequisites: At least three intermediate to advanced level chain maille classes. Knowledge of Jens Pind helpful.
Project will be completed in class.
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring: Beading mat, task lamp.
Pliers: Flatnose without grooves, rubber-coated. Instructor prefers Lindstrom.
Materials in Kit: Jump rings in aluminum, copper, and brass; lobster claw; earring wire; weave-starter piece; color instructions. Optional: Anodized aluminum rings instead of mixed metal. Precious metal kits available for purchase.
Limit: One seat per person per class.
