Our “Maillers’ Choice” kits have been such a sensation that we thought it would be fun to create some just for the Bead&Button Show this year too! Now is your chance to vote for your favorite color options for 3 different kits (one of which is brand new and won’t even release until the show!) Whether you are able to come to the show or not, we hope you have fun helping us customize these kits (and don’t worry, we might just have a little something up our sleeves for your folks staying home and near your computers – *hint hint*.)

Rebeca is looking for an assistant for one of her sold-out classes at the Bead&Button Show. The class is for her Tapered Mobius necklace. It is an intermediate level class so we are looking for someone who works at an upper-intermediate or advanced level. Date, time and location for the class is as follows:
Tapered Mobius Necklace
3 hours
Sunday, June 3, 2012
7:00pm-10:00pm
Frontier Airlines Center
Milwaukee, WI
It is a paying gig! If you are interested, please contact jobs@bluebuddhaboutique.com. Be sure to outline your qualifications (previous teaching experience in any field is preferred, but not required). Attach images or include links to your chainmaille work. At least one image should be close enough to show your craftsmanship (the quality of your closures, etc).
If you are selected, you must be able to provide your own transportation to the class (so you don’t have to be from Milwaukee, but it certainly helps!). You will also receive a free kit in the colors of your choosing, to make the project well in advance of class. You’ll also need to meet with Rebeca (a phone call or Skype conversation is perfectly fine) to review the class outline and go over common troubleshooting issues.

We did it! Kat, Jen & I just got back to Chicago and are taking the rest of today and tomorrow off before finishing the massive task of unpacking, restocking and catching up with emails. Sorry to keep you waiting even longer—but after working for a week straight (even longer, if you include all the weekends worked prior to the show) we need a bit of R&R! We’ll post photos of the show as soon as we can. And in the meantime, if you love beading & have a journalism background, we hear that Bead&Button magazine is hiring.

Dead tired. Loopy as all heck. Forgetting that meals come in options other than protein bars. Yet, somehow, very happy and satisfied with life right now.
Today was another great day teaching and at the booth, just very long (show hours were from 10 am to 8 pm to be exact). For the last 3 hours of the day, I had a Captive Zen class, which was awesome. This group of people “got” the weave right away. I love it when that happens!
Saw some great chainmaille today–will post photos after the show ends and I have time to properly upload images. Looking forward to taking more photos tomorrow, when I have longer breaks and can wander the show floor and the Bead Dreams exhibit.
And finally:
Dear Hotel Guest(s) in Room 1130 – I’m sorry I always think your room is the exit to the staircase. If you think some jerk keeps trying to break into your room, um, yeah, that would be me just trying to squeeze in some exercise while I’m here. *sheepish grin* I swear I’ll figure it out by the end of my stay…
Um, is it Thursday already? The rest of Wednesday is sort of a blur. The B3 crew arrived a few hours late, due to some delays in loading the truck in Chicago. So we rolled up our sleeves and got to work assembling grids and putting the “shell” of our booth together.
We didn’t get very far before Kat & I had to go get ready for Meet the Teachers. This was one of my favorite years ever for MTT. So many familiar faces, so many folks wearing B3 designs, and so many new people eager to explore the world of maille. We even nearly sold out of some instructions already! The only thing that would have made it more awesome, would have been if time had slowed down just a bit so I could have enjoyed it more!
Since we left in such a hurry for Meet the Teachers, our booth looks like a cyclone. We’re about to head back in there, straighten everything up, put a ton of products on pegs, run out to get more instructions printed,…and then … we await the stampede.
Wish us luck!
