Rondo a la Byzantine Necklace

by Rebeca Mojica

As seen on page 104 of Rebeca Mojica's book, CHAINED.

Inspired by one of our most popular project, Rondo à la Byzantine necklace is a curved variation on the classic bracelet.  Use colorful anodized aluminum rings to add visual interest and make this intricate pattern really pop. You could also hang bead drops from the bottom points of the chainmaille weave for an elegant statement necklace.

NOTE: PDF instructions include ring counts and instructions for a BRACELET, however you can use the step-by-step instructions in the PDF to create a necklace by stopping after Stage 5.

Prerequisite: Proficiency in at least 3 chainmaille weaves, including the Building Block:

Rondo a la Byzantine uses the techniques learned in our Helm Chain tutorial. Please make sure you are comfortable with this weave before proceeding, as steps for creating this base are not included in this tutorial. Knowledge of Byzantine is extremely helpful as well.
